Well hi there! - Phyrne - 30-08-2012

Greetings esteemed members of the *nix community!

I'm an avid Linux user, but looking to take my first steps into BSD very soon.
I've been a Linux user for the past few years (and before that OS X) so I've always been on *nix at home.

I enjoy messing around with eye-candy and check DeviantArt daily, check out my profile :)
I also run a personal blog, mainly comprised of my endevours in the *nix world.

I've been all warm and cozy on Arch Linux for a while now but I'm looking to checkout BSD on one of my other machines and explore UNIX a bit further!

Apart from all the geeky stuff: Drink, girls, tattoos, video games (huge Halo fan), and many other things people probably don't care about! :P

I look forward to the future discussions in this, what already seems to be, great forum!

Hello and welcome! I really like your blog, the layout and colors are very minimal!

I hope to see you posting around the forums!

Welcome to unixhub ;) Hope to see you around.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys!

Glad you enjoy my blog Jayro, simplicity is the ultimate sophistication ;)

Thanks Test-Run!

I can see this forum becoming my new home. I'm quite active on the Arch Linux forums, but I feel Unix Hub is a lot more 'discussion driven' :)

Regardless, welcome aboard! :D

Maybe you have :P I use the same picture on my blog and DeviantArt page, so maybe it's from there?
Thanks Neo Terra!

Yeah! me too, I saw your picture in a thread on the arch forum I think... maybe even 2 days ago or so.
Anyway, I've been reading a little on your forum about the battery consumption, I tried some stuff yesterday and I can't pass the 1h20 min of battery life

My avatar? Yeah that's the one I use on the Arch forum too, I go by the name 'Starfall' over there :)

What kind of system are you running? Have you tried seeing what PowerTop suggests? (Get the powertop-git package)

RE: Well hi there! - venam - 31-08-2012

yeah! I installed powertop, doesn't change a lot; I gained 20 min.
I have a pc and I obviously run arch too.
I think the battery is old that is why its life is not long.
