Very cool!
Those aren't real terms, right?
Care to explain how you achieved this?

yepp, not real terms - KLWP is used to create live wallpapers, which you can place shapes and text in (and make clickable objects) - the term effect is done with 2 rectangles, the bigger one on bottom with the border color, the smaller on on top with the bg color. the commands are just text formatted from KLWP - managed to mimic the output of mpc play closely enough for my liking :)

The cool thing is you can tie the colors to global variables, so it's pretty easy to change bg/fg/border color on all of the 'terms' at once.

Well. Reddit is down, and of course I can't sleep. So I'm resurrecting this to post my phone screen shots. Which... perhaps I should have resized down...

RE: Android Screenshots - josuah - 17-06-2016

Well, android is being UNIX-based, but I did not feel it to be UNIX like, with the java for everything... Until termux came!

I just installed it and fell in love.
Never understood why I had to have a fancy homescreen when all I needed was to select the program to launch.
Thanks for sharing.

Should quote this plenty of times. Besides Evie I hadn't found anything I liked until this, plus it's on F-Droid.

My launcher is T-UI. A CLI based launcher with some cool built in commands.

The colours and some other settings are customisable, and there is an alias file.

Why do you think a CLI is the best UI for a phone?

I don't necessarily. I thought I'd give it a shot and ended up liking it. I enjoy the lack of icons, and the general geekiness of it.

what's your setup?

RE: Android Screenshots - hades - 19-06-2017

It's Nova, with an icon theme (Whicons at the time of that screenshot, I think). The whole "terminal window" background behind the icons, along with the prompt text, was edited onto the wallpaper using GIMP. The clock is a standard clock widget.

RE: Android Screenshots - z3bra - 20-06-2017

I wish I could simply tie an icon in my app list to any program in my $PATH...
