Slap on a sticker to your machine, showing hat you're into NetBSD, FreeBSD, etc.

I'll post my laptop later, but what stickers do you guys have?

An `Asyulum for snowden` sticker, an apple sticker (I use a lenove thinkpad, it's purely ironic) and a sticker similar to this one (http://eu-truther.deviantart.com/art/Europe-in-Communism-260636064) because I think the european union is a great idea and I support the idea of socialism. So that's basically it for now, but I hope to get some more stickers on the 32c3.

I have a geforce sticker, intel sticker and energy star sticker. Pretty boring, they came with the computer.

No stickers are best stickers.

I have an "Opinions!" bumper sticker from xkcd (http://store.xkcd.com/products/opinions-bumper-sticker), a Steelseries sticker, and some Arduino stickers. All of them came from products that I bought (except for the xkcd sticker).

All these stickers I got for free.

The Apple Pay one is for people who were Apple Pay merchants (even though I'm not one).

The Dunlop Strings sticker came with my Bass strings.

The Apple logo with the paint dripping is the OpenJailbreak logo.

The GoPro sticker I got since they were giving them away.

Here's the thread where we discussed it.
That's the one I got.

Yeah I wanted one of those Nixers stickers, didn't realise they were available. I'll be getting myself one, but bar that I have none.

I have a couple of Ubuntu stickers from way back when that was my OS of choice and I still stick one on my computers when I get them, even though I don't use Ubuntu

I guess I just know Ubuntu is one of the most popular linux distros and most techies know what it is, so I can basically say "I use linux" with my sticker without getting asked "What is that?" 12 times a day like I imagine I would with a Debian or ElementaryOS sticker.

To the opposite I like to de-brand things, so my sticker is a black tape over logo/brand name, camera and the microphone. I don't like stickers because using them you may see me in a particular way through the prism of your own perception and personal misconceptions. We are doing it subconsciously. It is similar to other topics like politics, religion, race. I think it's better to allow others to perceive you based on your merits and actions and not on your appearance/views.

In my experience, people with certain stickers on their laptop have less interesting merits and views than others.

stickers or no stickers, perception and prejudice will be there.

Our new laptop has a radeon sticker. I know this, because the edge curls up and I can't stop myself from fidgetting with it. There is probably one of those intel-inside stickers as well, but if so, it's glued smoothly and has escape my conscious attention.

I haven't added stickers to anything I own since secondary school. I do not feel the need to advertise my likes, views or opinions. If that says a lot about me, so be it.

(true story though: in the early 00's, when apple was about to disappear, I saw a car on the highway with plate number MACxxxx and an apple sticker pasted next to it. That was funny)

I don't think you should be that anxious and self-aware about stickers or any other type of ornament. It doesn't need that many levels of metaperception.
It's a decoration, some people do use them for show off, but I think most people use them to give a better visual appearance to their laptops.

Probably also to make them recognizable. The number of different laptop models nowadays isn't that large.
