BSD on RPi? - FreeBSD - 15-09-2012 Has anyone tested BSD on the raspberry pi? Thought it would be cool to try! That's what I thought too! Haven't got a pi yet but thought it would be pretty awesome to get some form of BSD on it though! RE: BSD on RPi? - crshd - 16-09-2012 If it runs, it runs NetBSD. The Pi boots NetBSD 6.0 RC1 to multiuser. But no USB or Network yet, according to [this post](http://blog.netbsd.org/tnf/entry/announcing_the_first_release_candidate) RE: BSD on RPi? - FreeBSD - 16-09-2012 (16-09-2012, 12:12 AM)crshd Wrote: If it runs, it runs NetBSD. Thanks for this!! RE: BSD on RPi? - yrmt - 16-09-2012 It can boot FreeBSD! Still needs more work for multi user tho: http://kernelnomicon.org/ RE: BSD on RPi? - FreeBSD - 16-09-2012 (16-09-2012, 06:23 AM)Beastie Wrote: It can boot FreeBSD! I'm really looking to get into BSD (still haven't done it! D:) and running it on my Pi would be ideal. EDIT: I just realised the below on NetBSD's blog: Quote:Add initial support for the RaspberryPI, sufficient to boot multiuser and access the gpio header pins via serial console, but no USB or network support yet So perhaps that answers the "if it functions well" part of my post :P RE: BSD on RPi? - Robby - 18-09-2012 I can't wait until the project actually gets finished, I will be installing this the second it's out. When it's considered stable, you don't see the appeal in placing a PI inside a bare bones Mac laptop? ;D RE: BSD on RPi? - bash - 20-11-2012 I'm getting a Pi soon and will definitely try this out when it is finished! |
