On that netbook, I'll take all the spare RAM I can get. Trust me none of that 1gb is being 'wasted'.

Not a lot of tablets even have 1 gig of ram. I feel sorry for those people. Especially those that want to install Gnome Ubuntu or KDE on it. On some tablets a gig o ram is not even enough.

^ Did you manually tile those or is there a patch to get DWM to leave gaps? (on the right)

It's manual for the sake of a screenshot, I just use tiling myself. There is a patch called uselessgaps however, which does exactly that.

I was just wondering if there was a DWM patch to emulate "null" windows like this:

(that's not manual :p )

Haha yeah, someone mentioned it on IRC and linked to a site with them, this was on the first page, but I really liked it so I thought "why not".

New Fedora install running Xfce.

Trying to find a good font for everything. This one works for me (for now).

RE: Unix screen-shots thread! - hades - 02-12-2013

That font would drive me crazy

Going to have to agree on that one.

Even as our resident user and lover of tiny fonts, I have to concur.

It's not that's tiny, there is just no spacing. The letters are practically on top of each other. Maybe try something like uushi or lemon if you want something small.

RE: Unix screen-shots thread! - z3bra - 05-12-2013

Didn't you get warnings/errors about missing systemd lib with syslog and ntpd ?

RE: Unix screen-shots thread! - nrmc.dubz - 05-12-2013

z3bra Wrote:Didn't you get warnings/errors about missing systemd lib with syslog and ntpd ?

No, ntpd works great with busybox. But syslog-ng must be compiled without systemd (just delete systemd lines in PKGBUILD) and you have to change the unix-dgram path in the config from

Code:
/run/systemd/journal/syslog
to
Code:
/dev/log

RE: Unix screen-shots thread! - z3bra - 05-12-2013

Thanks for the hint! I was wrong with ntpd, as I installed openntpd. it now works. Thanks for your help for syslog tho :-)

Regardless of it being tacky or not, it's certainly dangerous if you have a girlfriend.

Except if your background IS your girlfriend
