*BSD laptop - Okeg - 20-11-2012 So, i'm looking into getting a laptop. What gfx cards, what modems etc are recommended for BSD/works good? EDIT: sorry for making such a short question. I already know about the list of working laptops. I just wonder what are the do's and don'ts of hardware for *BSD? RE: *BSD laptop - bash - 20-11-2012 Correct me if I'm wrong but there aren't any official drivers for AMD but there are for nVidia. RE: *BSD laptop - zygotb - 21-11-2012 Atheros Wifi cards seem to be well supported, rather than, say, Broadcom, but I have Atheros so am unsure of Broadcom other than what I have read. RE: *BSD laptop - Mafia - 21-11-2012 GFX, uhm. Anything AMD. Procceser, AMD. wifi card, I have a Atheros AR5002G Wireless Network Adapter. But then again, my setup was always very outdated(besides the wifi card). My whole setup worked damn good on OpenBSD, and I ran AMD like pimps run hoes. |
