Yeah that's true. I just though it would be nice to give everyone an "idea" of what the meetup looks like, perhaps to make it less scary or something, I don't know. If you think it's annoying to have it advertised like this, I can just take it off.

I'll still write the summary because they are cleaner. I don't think people are not joining because they are afraid, it's a timezone issue. |

Timezone is what prevents me from getting involved. I don't mind if it's not all edited and pretty, plus it gives us some of the participants personality :)

Sadly, I'm working most Mondays at the time of the podcast. Don't usually get off work until around 5PM CDT (10PM UTC).

It's been 3 weeks that no one is joining.
Are the topics too boring? |

|

Sadly, I don't have time anymore to join :/

Would anyone be willing to relaunch the podcast.
The issue we had was that people couldn't be available at the time we were hosting it. We discussed a bit on IRC and it might be a good idea to make it happen like this: We chose a subject for the week. The people who want to attend post their available time through a program. The program then chooses the best time to host the podcast. That would be the best way to make something international happen and turn the podcast into something more "professional" once we get it rolling correctly. |
|||
|
|||
I would be happy to take part in it again provided I'm free, though if it's going more 'professional' then I worry I don't know nearly as much as you guys so my contribution might be lacking. Nonetheless, it's still fun either way.
We could use Doodle for scheduling, I've used it before. Not sure if it picks a decent time or if it just allows us to view when everyone is free nicely though. |

Brace yourself nixers, I'm relaunching the podcast!
This time I prepared an interface that will help us manage all the timezone hell. This time it'll be professional and recorded for the public to hear. This time I have a quality microphone. I've thought this through. Keep your eye on this thread because I'm soon gonna link you to the interface on this thread. To access the interface every user will need a keycode which you can ask as a PM on IRC or on the forums. |

It's online!
http://podcast.nixers.net/ To participate to next week's podcast, and all other podcasts, you'll have to get a keycode to login. For that just PM me and I'll give you one. How the podcast will take place and organized will be explained in the first episode which will be shorter but explanatory. The episodes will then be posted on social media (probably youtube or others because it'll be bandwith extensive to host it on nixers.net). |

I recorded the last episode alone. No one joined...
It might be boring or not technical enough. ヽ(´~`;) It's available to listen to on the other thread. |

Oh, that's sad. I am sorry, I have got a lot to learn for at the moment.

The only time I announced I could come, I didn't. How lame I've been!
But fortunately: it is a weekly podcast, which means that next week... Podcast! |

Yesterday I listened to a bunch of episodes and they were pretty good; but today I want to give a topic idea.
I was thinking about something like "Securely managing your keys". SSH, GPG, etc... which are the best practices or maybe not about keys, let's say "How do nixers secure their system" in general.

This is a nice subject, but it'll need more participants. |

And certainly would prefer many points of view since the way people secure their system may vary a lot. I may participate for this one, so if there's more people interested and you're willing to cover this topic just message me and lets schedule.
