Hello,
I am new to this forum, and don't intend on intruding too far in. I am a Linux fan, but not an expert. I know my way around it and have run a couple desktops and servers around my house and for friends. I am also a freelance film-maker, and I require the help of whoever is willing to help me. For my own personal learning and for the movies "reality" (I say "reality" because what I am asking is really a hacker-ish stereotype). I would like help on building this (http://imgur.com/a/Kjs5c#0), now I can install the OS and that on my own, I just need help with the configs and setting up the WM. Now I know it might be corny, but I would really appreciate the help. I could learn how to use WM, but that would take too long for the production. thank you, Exp0sure

Unix is user-friendly. It's just picky about who its friends are. |

You could our dotfiles to have a good looking preconfigured environment that would look hacker enough for a movie :)

That font looks like Terminus Bold.
The window manager looks like a fullscreen terminal emulator running dvtm That's all I got for now. |

These look like some typical tiling WMs with really really bad colors. It shouldn't be hard to reproduce. Install AwesomeWM and change all the colors to green.

Are you saying it's hard to reproduce just because it has bad colors? The colors aren't really that big a deal, I just want to have the general layout, and the approximate colours if possible, or else it's not that big a deal. Thank you for the help.

If you jump on irc (irc.nixers.net #nixers) it might be easier for us to guide you through, at least easier than to post a step-by-step install process on the forums.

Should I move this thread to the desktop customization part of this forum?

You could install DWM, i3, XMonad, Awesome or really any tiling window manager and just change the colors to black and green. And that's really all you would need to get the general layout. http://dwm.suckless.org/ http://i3wm.org/ http://awesome.naquadah.org/ http://xmonad.org/ |
