That’s why the shebang exists. If /bin/sh points to a not-quite-POSIX shell, the system has a broken configuration in my opinion. Not something to be fixed in the userland.

My (non-code) text files are usually named according to their format - .org, .md, .txt are the extensions I use most. One of the reasons is that I also use Windows. :)
