In the end, it's not that ugly, really. The solution is simply to open your controlling terminal an use it for user interaction instead of the naive way of reading/writing on stdin/stdout. I hope that's what pick(1) does, and I wish that's what dialog did. Note that the thread is quite long, so I have not read carefully the whole thing (linear forums make it hard to follow interesting parts of a thread). |
