I think ImageMagick command line syntax is a botch, you cannot do simple merges in two images in which you have done different operations without having to save the intermediate steps on disk. If it used reverse polish notation to stack the operations up, it would be easier to deal with.
I've just found a proposal to a suckless image processing utility that uses this kind of notation, and I think it is really promising. |
