What's wrong with Rust, except that its compiler needs too much RAM and dynamic linking needs notable more work? After all, the resulting binaries are native, just like C binaries are.
Don't get me wrong: If someone believes that mature software absolutely has to be rewritten in another language in order to solve some supposed problem, then they have probably simply misunderstood the problem considerably. But is it really decisive for the end user (as long as he is not using Gentoo...) in which language the code is written, which only arrives precompiled anyway? |
