Why no anonymous access ? Is every project secret ?

Here's the reason why:
* No malicious code. (PM for approval)
Because malicious code can be approved via PMs.

I think he meant why we can't simply view projects without signing in, which is kind of a pain.

Every project is private by default unless that person chooses for it to be public. That is GitLab's default and I'm not entirely sure how to change it (yet).
