We sometimes use write/wall at work, by the way. It’s rare, but it happens. Especially useful when everybody works from home, because if I send my colleague a note in a chat, they might not instantly read it. But they’ll sure notice a “echo hey hold on, we need to talk about that iptables rule first | wall”. :) Normally, I’d shout across the room.
