Trying to dig-down and search out courses (ideally online, with kudos) in *BSD. Seems a few linux sites, bsdmag and others offer them but would like opinions and advice from those in the know.
Looking at: https://bsdmag.org Linux Academy lpi.org So far. Linux academy had 0 *BSD stuff only text searches inside their content provided a reference to FreeBSD but I am under the understanding that they are sharing conferences or similar. lpi - outdated materials and reference to an exam somewhere. bsdmag.org has (expensive) courses - not certain how "viable" they would be once taken in the field of work. Hoping those of you that have attended events have any ideas or those that have acquired said certification have feedback, or any others might help chime in? Hope this discussion might help those of us with a love of *BSD get certification , credibility, etc as it seems other than writing in your C.V or Resume you have *BSD knowledge there's a lot of dead ends. I also think it's nice to complete courses due to potentially learning aspects you may of overlooked. Thanks for any help zzz |

Is quite hard to find *BSD courses, specially those turned to certification ( which is another issue ). Despite of a few months ago the addition of BSD certification to LPI hall , there's not much for training there.

The Linux Professional institute offers a BSD focused exam
https://www.lpi.org/our-certifications/e...objectives The open group offers a Unix Certification program https://publications.opengroup.org/certifications/unix https://publications.opengroup.org/x1203 UNIX® V7 is in conformance to the Shell and Utilities volume of IEEE Std 1003.1-2008 and ISO/IEC 9945: 2009 It would be a good start to create a use case for each command in the workplace https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Unix_commands Historically, a junior level employee would start out with backing up tape drives using unix. Utilities listed in POSIX.1-2017 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:POSIX_Utilities.pdf Very similar, and often more in demand certifications include: 1. Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) 2. CompTIA Linux+ 3. Oracle Linux Certified Administrator (OCA) 4. IBM Certified System Administrator - AIX V7 5. Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE): Server Infrastructure --> MCSE: Cloud Platform and Infrastructure 6. VMware Certified Professional 6 – Data Center Virtualization (VCP6-DCV) 7.
