Emulating/Looking-like a WM Webpage - The WWW

Hello fellow nixers,
There was a trend we were doing some years ago about making our personal webpage similar to our window manager. I remember quite a lot of members had set that up.

Today I've seen this page popped up and I wondered about what happened to all those websites we made.

I still have the old version of my blog here (trying to look like 2bwm):
https://venam.nixers.net/old

Let's start this trend again, it'll be fun.

Bump this thread with website you found that looked like a window manager or with new ideas.

Cheers!

That is pretty cool.

My site is a little bit similar to my wm. I use the same background and colour scheme, and I styled the layout with a wm in mind. It's good idea though, I may have a play around at improving it.

My favourite window manager based webpage is the classic Dennis Nedry's from Jurassic Park.

I could do with a shot of rum right now.

Just came across the lobste.rs bbs page, not quite a wm but thought it fits.

How would that work? Every post in a terminal/window? I can't picture this.
Wouldn't it waste a lot of space?

I think the design we have right now is pretty close to the typical design of minimal window managers. I really like it this way.

https://budrich.github.io <- this is my homepage. It is not 100% emulating a WM. But it is very inspired by them (terminal output for graphics, window decorations, file manager tree)

I like it! This is something we're missing these days, unique and artsy webpages. It's nice not seeing the same template everywhere.

Oh no, I meant generally on the internet, the bootstrap and material designs, etc..

Yeah, i know. But actually the icons that i use is from bootstrap. But On my todo list for 2018 is (among other stuff) get started with vector graphics and program my own icons. I have been working as a cnc programmer for 10 years and also did a lot of flash stuff a long time ago, working more with vectors is something i really would like to do.

Me and Kopri had a similar project going at one point though a good chunk of the code with the the fun bits in it (console commands, other windows, etc) is still stuck on an old drive of mine and never made it into the repo.

Might resurrect it at some point.

Has anyone thought of regrouping the pages somewhere, as a list that is?
Could be a ncice collection for others to checkout.

I fell down the rabbit hole that is the links on these pages. Lot of awesome stuff in here.

What I did not see, however, was a "terminal" div or page close when hitting Ctrl-d.

Though if you're only opening it for the playlists, it might just be easier to use mpv + youtube-dl.

Looking back at this thread is a lot of fun. So many pages were listed.
Have you got any new ones?
