So if you're in the IRC, you probably know about my issue, but I thought I would post for general discussion.

My GPU is Intel HD 3000 integrated, and the xf86-video-intel driver doesn't work. It's a known issue, it's not just me.

Proprietary drivers straight from Intel won't work, and neither will
It still picks up vesa.

I found a page with patches for GEM and KMS, but I'm not entirely sure how to go about using them as I'm relatively new to BSD (ex-Arch user).

Hi I have a Intel HD 4000. And im using linux. Intel needs KMS in linux. And a kernelpatch(wich is now included by default)

On FreeBSD you can not unload the module, so you can't go back to tty, thats why I went back to slackware.

Lastly, it seems like OpenBSD has better intel drivers than FreeBSD.
