Did you know there are 3 versions of duckduckgo?
Normal: https://duckduckgo.com/
Javascriptless: https://html.duckduckgo.com (you will get redirected here with noscript.)
Super bare-bones: https://lite.duckduckgo.com (you will get redirected here with a cli browser.)

I think these simpler sites aren't getting the attention they deserve, so if you have any similar links please share them here. Unofficial sites like https://invidio.us/ are also welcome.

I agree, we need to applaud and support simpler sites like these.

I see mobile.twitter.com used a lot. Also I guess of course old.reddit.com.

CSS-less websites look great to me,
the only thing they're missing is
Code:
p {
        max-width: 80ch;
}

Yup, but other alternatives are still up, and you can host it. The software is still under dev (last time I checked the announcement).

As for alternative "lighter" version of site, I just found out about https://nitter.net, which is like invidio.us for twitter. It aims to provide twitter access without javascript, so it seem to qualify :)

I found out about nitter a few weeks ago. I use it in newsboat by adding "/rss" to the end of the URL, e.g. https://nitter.net/pyratebeard/rss.

I sadly wrote birdcries.net before I knew about Nitter.
Well, it’ll remain online.
