Arch/xmonad on my thinkpad T430s - Any of you guys into Xmonad? I'm seeking for a method to move the windows with the keyboard when in floating mode. Till' now I only figured out how to stack them to the edge of the screen or to other floating windows. Not that I need that floating mode so much, but still...

Nice eye!

How many hours of battery life do you have with your ThinkPad?

RE: Unix screen-shots thread! - eye - 18-03-2013

Sadly the Battery Life isn't that good.

The Samsung battery that was delivered with it had a problem (<2.5h).
I received a SANYO battery now, that has about ~3.8 h of battery life with all powertop suggestions activated, and backlight reduced to a minimum.
Perhaps I'll buy an additional 3 cell battery for my ultrabay...

RE: Unix screen-shots thread! - jolia - 18-03-2013

Oh okay, but how many cells do you have on yout 3.8h batttery life?

RE: Unix screen-shots thread! - eye - 18-03-2013

It's a 6cell battery.

According to Lenovo.com

Battery Life

6-cell: Up to 7.6 hrs
6-cell plus external bay battery: Up to 12.6 hrs

RE: Unix screen-shots thread! - jolia - 18-03-2013

Fake! But I think they mean on Windows...

What's the external bay battery? Is it the battery bay on the back or the battery?

RE: Unix screen-shots thread! - eye - 18-03-2013

No. Instead of the dvd-rom, you put an additional 3 cell battery in it. Pretty neat.

In the two screenshots it's the only thing you noticed.
Why focus on something in particular, take the thing as a whole.

RE: Unix screen-shots thread! - yrmt - 19-03-2013

People should use the boards for screenshot threads. See the off-topic section.

Nice screenshot venam, but why are you using MCWM as a tiling WM :D ?

It's not tilling, it's:
shift+mod+m (maximize horizontally)
mod+y (top-right)
Then:
mod+m (max vert)
mod+shift+k (little bit of resize vertically)
mod+b
...etc.
I just wanted to place the windows like that, it's not like tillling WMs have right over the layout I use on my windows.

Looks good venam.
Someday I may be a miniscule fraction as capable of making my desktop look as nice.
