@Sticky:
Not bad, but I see some things: Your firefox: Take away the add-on bar and the address bar and it'd actually look quite nice. Also, titlebars - they take up space and don't really do much. You won't believe how much more screen space you create by disabling them. Also, the top bar (I'm not sure what it is) is kind of busy. I suggest i3bar with only the essentials or tint2 if you want a beautiful and fully customizable bar. Also, disable bolds in your terminal. It makes it look much better :3 |

Super oldschool. Like 1600's oldschool. |

I really like your setup, earsplit. If I may inquire, what WM and bar are you using? Could I see some dotfiles?

BSPWM, with bar and dzen2 applets. The dzen is an artifact of my xmonad days, and i'll being going full-bar once i finish a patch that allows clicking. My dotfiles live here: http://www.github.com/windelicato

I dont know. I resized it to show more of the wallpaper and the spacing got all funky. I'm also using internal borders in urxvt so that could have fucked with it

I still don't understand the need for that bar; It looks good but is useless. Best design is efficient design.

Beastie is right, just take a step back and really think about what is necessary (inb4 hurr guise I actually use all dis stuff). Colours are interesting though, I'll give you that. At least the unixpornbabs will love it. |

The menubar on Mac OS X contains pretty important menus for apps.

I don't see how having to open a terminal to check my battery life / cpu heat / clock / etc is an efficient design? Unless there's a better option I'm missing. It's also nice to see when someone messages me on irssi or bitlbee in the WS list, so I don't have to keep going back to check on it. To each his own, I guess. That gif was meant to show off some of the features of BSPWM because so many people ask me why I use it over i3, awesome, etc... Peace love and unix <3 |

I have a 60 gb mysql db for local development, and need to test websites in IE 7, 8, and 9 in VMs. The 16gb helps a lot AND it was a way cheaper upgrade then my SSD |
