In this thread you can ask questions and talk about the podcast.

This is a very nice idea.
I would be in for a once-per-2-weeks talk about specific topics, or news headlines, or maybe about criticizing certain setups.
All of that should be done in the hipster, nixers, high quality way we are used to.

I guess it would turn out to be very entertaining as long as we are organized.

I think the key is to be organised so that there is always something to talk about. However if it is going to be an entertaining podcast it will have to be a little less informal. In a way that it isn't just reading from a script. And or course it will have to be done in the hipster nixers way.

BSDNow is another podcast I enjoy. I don't think there exists a podcast about ricing, it's a cool idea.

OK. The first thing I was thinking was to get a general idea of the format of the show.By this I mean what will actually happen in the show. This may also effected by how many people or who is on the podcast. For example if we had a segment on news this could be divided into segments such as bsd and linux. I was thinking we could have 'experts' who would talk more on a specific subject. However I didn't want to restrict anybody to anything. This I expect would be separate from the ricing information. I was thinking for the ricing people could talk about their current setup and what they are doing to their setup. There could also be some kind of featured setup.
Summary
-Short introduction OS's used and whatnot
-Possible news in Unix world
-The interesting ricing segment
-Maybe something
Let me know what you think. I think this could be something.

Excellent.
I would propose the following ideas:
  • Nixers internal news and events (irc included)
  • Interesting news related to *nix (must be well chosen to not be boring)
  • Explain your rice setup
  • Critics of top-post on /r/unixporn or other screenshots
  • Weird programs you discovered
  • Tips for good rice setup
  • *nix jokes/memes

We could also have a *nix diary but I'm not so sure about that.

EDIT:
How is this gonna take place?
With what technology/software?
We should agree on a specific time.
Will we have intro and outro musics?

I really like the idea of the Nixers internal news. That will definitely add and help build the community.
As to how the software I'm not entirely sure. I was thinking Google hangouts however this I feel will make releasing it as a traditional podcast much harder. Another option would be to record a skype call but this may result in a decrease in quality. But another way would be to record local audio streams and edit those together with the skype call as a sync guide. I think audacity is universally praised as a good audio editor so that will play some part.
A specific time should be agreed upon. This may depend on time zones.

It'd cooler to have something live that is also recorded, maybe using mumble.
Something similar to pauldotcom.com podcasts.
