Vi/Vim is my choice. I do all my coding, writing papers, web projects, presentations, and probably something else I don't recall now, in it.

Atom is pretty nice, though some people don't use it cause it's JS.

The problem I have with it is that when I've tried, which has been several times, I have had *no* success with successfully compiling it.

I started with Sublime Text. Then switched to Vim. Now I'm on Atom with Vi-mode plugin
