Hi all! My name is Morgan but I go by xenone on the internet because it just sounds and looks way cooler.

I study computer engineering and computer science and somewhat recently became a bit of a *nix enthusiast. I've always loved computers and wanted to make things and find people who are like-minded. I've been a bit of a lurker on here and unixporn but finally decided it was time to participate more. I really appreciate this forum and the sense of community that comes from our collective interest in something somewhat niche.

I have been working on and off for a while on a floating window manager as I wanted something that is sort of in between cwm and 2bwm. I also wanted to work on my C coding which has now easily become my favorite language.

Anyways, it's great to meet you all!

Hello xenone, glad you found us.
You can hop on irc to have a chat or contribute to the forums more "serious" conversation.

Glad to see another fellow C enthusiast here ! I've been toying with XCB myself to build something between cwm and 2bwm as well, that is somewhat scriptable. You might want to check these projects for ideas/inspirations:

Thanks! I've messed around with wmutils before which actually inspired my ideas for my wm. I've been going back and forth between xlib and xcb but I've settled on xlib again as the documentation is much better and xcb masks for window shape didn't seem to work for me.
