I wish I could claim that hole in the wall was here when I moved in, unfortunately it was caused by my improper shelf removal techniques.

Sorry all!
Does it normally look like this or did you set it up for the photo?

Normally looks more or less like this, though I am usually wearing the glasses if I'm looking at the laptop, and there are often books/papers/pads knocking around if I'm "working".

This is it at it's tidiest as I had to clear everything off in order to put out some food for some guests; took the picture just after I put everything back on.

Used to be a lot messier, but recently I've been trying to reduce clutter, partly why I ditched my monitor.

No, I don't need all those screens, I normally only use two of them.

My current setup is... nothing.

I believe this is cheating because I cleaned my desk yesterday and removed my second display since I'm looking forward upgrading my whole setup.

On desk:
- Lenovo Thinkpad T480 (Bought last week)
- Steinberg UR22 mkII USB Audio Interface which I use mostly for recording music covers and other video projects.
- MoFang Jiaoshi Mf5S (5x5x5 Rubik's cube): i've always liked Rubik's cubes. Only to add some color to my desk while I get maybe some plants.
- WD My Passport Ultra 1TB: using a 500GB SSD this comes very useful.
- Linchpin by Seth Godin: one of my favorite writers. Bought this book this weekend.

Plan to buy:
- Mouse
- Mousepad
- Keyboard
- Monitor
- A nice green plant

There's not much ricing on my computer nowadays, using a pretty much default XFCE with some keybindings.

Here's my battlestation at work.

Basic Toshiba laptop
Coolermaster rapid-i blue switches mechanical keyboard along with a wrist pad.
I don't remember what those earphone are.
A mousepad that I also don't remember about.
The mouse is microsoft "basic optical mouse", it does the job.
The usual notepad with a pen.

I'll post my home station when I'm back.

EDIT: here's my humble homestation:

It's the same keyboard and mousepad from work but I reverse the mousepad because it's more comfortable on a plastic table like this.
There's a thermos to keep hot water to prepare tea without having to move from my place.
A chair on the side, because a lot of time time I'm joined by someone.
The "illuminati" pyramid contains game controllers.
Probably the best part about this setup is not about the setup itself but the amount of light I have in my room. There are 4 led lights which always make it seem like it's day time.

Well, well, well... It doesn't look impressive, but I won many battles with that station!
I'm "planning" on changing the monitor and keyboard, but it's been 2 years now that I'm "planning", so...

Sorry for the potato quality, my phone back camera is dead, so you get a selfie!

Wonder how it managed to take a selfie. w/e

Any reason for your mouse being at a different level? Are you comfortable with that?

Not enough space on the same level as the keyboard, that is the only reason. It's not an issue though, I rarely touch it

Jeez, nice setup. What's the use for that microphone? Also, what are you using as interface for it?
Wildefyr

Just gaming p2t & streaming, but I was looking to improve the setup to start doing some recording / commentary. Just been using a rubbish basic phantom supply for this mic but pretty sure it is why I keep getting static. I've got a Behringer U-PHORIA UM2 on order now.

Nothing as sophisticated as you lot. I stopped using FreeBSD a long time ago (version 8.3) and have rocked Debian ever since. I don't spend any time customising the OS as much as I did when I was a teenager. Daily driver T430 docked.

cozy new setup

Got a new desk, replaced the microphone with a AT2035 using a scarlett solo audio interface, and a new chair. I got rid of one monitor because I found that I didn't really need it too much due to my workflow changing significantly over the past few months.

That's a pretty looking update! I'm without a room at the moment, let alone a battlestation but I'll try to remember to update when I'm actually settled in properly

These days all attention is going towards the digital world, our personal webpages or blog which you can push in our repo, and our screenshot galleries.

Let's not forget that we're part of a physical world, :D
Especially now with the state the world is in and how we're forced to spend so much time on our workstation, our battlestation.

Did you change anything of it in the past months? How are you feeling spending time at home, now that you got all the time to enjoy the battlestation you got?
pyratebeard
Long time nixers
Updates since working from home; wrapped my desk in comic book cutouts to make it more interesting, moved the desk away from the window due to glare, replaced most of the PC components (specs below).

- custom pc
-- Antec 1200
-- ASUS TUF Gaming B550M-Plus
-- AMD Ryzen 5 3600
-- Corsair Hydro H55
-- 32GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4-3200
-- Radeon RX 580
- Lenovo Thinkpad T440p
- Raspberry Pi 3
- Yottamaster 4 bay HDD enclosure

Things I would like to change/update:
- new keyboard; currently I am using a cheap 68key mech kbd but would like to invest in something decent
- new pc case; something slightly smaller and with {less,no} leds... I am over that phase
- new desk; I am looking at some height adjustable desks but waiting to have the room decorated. I will also get a floor stand for the pc so it doesn't take up so much desktop space

I could do with a shot of rum right now.
