How did you hear about Nixers?

Kept seeing it in screenshots on /r/unixporn, and I googled it one day and arrived here.

I got an account and lurked on the forums for a bit, but actually never saw the IRC details until I was back on /r/unixporn one day and noticed "Unixhub IRC" in the sidebar.. and that's when I joined the Unixhub IRC for the first time (And, I should mention, used IRC chat for the first time)

Was specifically searching for an irc channel to become part of, there was one I frequented a few years ago and that was fun so why not do it again. Found the post on /r/unixporn, and here I am.

I've heard about UnixHub, because of hanging around in r/unixporn. Typed `unixporn` into googles search bar and found you ganja smokers at first entry. I've looked into your screenshot thread and thought 'dats muh tast'; lurked around some other threads, and there was no OS- or Distro bashing. Simply enjoining *nix's world.

So, I signed up.

Well, Distro bashing in irc for fun is another case, then real hating users for using Distro A, or Distro B. The diffenrent between most forums (&irc) is, that users not be hated from other users for their flavour. I love that.

Yeah, first comes the distro-bashing, THEN we hate users. :3

Yep, most users are here thanks to the good ricers.

I found this site when a bunch of folks made an exodus from some FBI honeypot where the average users were only interested in skid kiddie - point & click - hax apps.

I'm definitely not one of the "good ricers," but rather resemble one of the skid kiddies I've mentioned above.

I was first introduced to UH by this user, http://forums.unixhub.net/member.php?act...ile&uid=33, which I used to talk with a lot. He was also from derpforums.net Unix section. I haven't heard of him in a while.

I found UnixHub through Beastie and Venam on derpforums. With all of the "Ubuntu or Linux Mint" type threads, I felt like I was wading through too much crap to find any good stuff.

And then unixhub.net...

Oh yeah, him too! I have no idea where he's been.

He's still alive probably. His last visit to DerpForums was on 01-16-2014.

I came with the exodus from HackForums. Someone had the link in their signature and I moved over. It's been a couple of years now I think...
