Inspired by dkeg's lush colour schemes, I've started dabbling with simple 5-colour palettes. Right now I'm designing them by hand, but I'm thinking my way towards doing some kind of simple dominant colour analysis to retrieve them directly from images.
Direct Any suggestions? |

I'm not sure if you're aware, but a few members from this very forum are working on urnn, a neural network to make colour schemes from wallpapers. |

kirby: I was not aware; thanks for the tipoff, looks like a fascinating project!

This is it. This is everything. They will ask, "But dont you need the other 254 colors?" And will whisper "....no..." |

Now, now. Monochrome appearing as two colors, doesn't actually mean it always IS two colors.
I'd say most use 232-255 besides their one color highlight. And as evident in the colortest script, it is more than one color. The one color bandwagon is more than one color, just sayin' I've seen this talked about a lot now... in terms of "colors" people argue black and forms of it are not real colors. But in the terms of the 256 "colors" available to you, more than one is being used, even more than two. Still looks awesome, @xero, heeyyy what happend to that zelda ascii art you posted a while back? |

First, the student was baffled and confused, he asked the zen master why if he really only was using two colors. The zen master confirmed it. The student was not satisfied, he continued by asking the zen master why he then bothered with modern displays. The zen master answered: 'When you drive, do you need the white stripes on the street? You can see where the street ends, don't you?" Thus, the student was enlightened. |

When you see the way in monochrome, then you will see the way in all things.

Monochrome colors is boring in my mind, but I like the same dark scheme.
