I'd go for either just the star with a white margin around it or I would favor the design venam brought up (the start with the monospace font). If I had a choice, I could not decide between them.

Try to change line 19: "while test $# -gt 0; do" to "while test $# -gt 1; do" and you should not get that error anymore. The script should work as expected i guess, so regardless of the error ...
