But, I watched my girlfriends laptop shut itself down in the middle of doing a bunch of shit because she went over capacity in RAM using Linux. 'Course I told her not to run chromium, slack, steam, and some other giant hog all at once. I'd rather prevent the issue before it arises. While you're argument makes sense, and this is interesting to read. You should only have to waste that much time investigating the first time, anytime after that you should know the culprit(s) in question. I'd say people come at it from different angles, and to each his own. As for more things to monitor, I'd say one that is like watching a pot boil is downloads to finish? Perhaps. The more you stare at it the slower it feels, so just forgetting about it. But then seeing it finished might be nice. There was some posts I had bookmarked, but it looks like a lot were deleted. The first two may be of no help because of that. The latter three I have reuploaded, they may have been by earsplit, he deleted most of his stuff... https://www.reddit.com/r/unixporn/comments/y67t2/ https://www.reddit.com/r/unixporn/comments/4tklii/ http://i.imgur.com/HaPWp9w.gif http://i.imgur.com/12AW8OP.gif http://i.imgur.com/DIUthaM.gif They may or may not help in giving you any ideas at all.
