25 in a few days; wasted youth spent not learning linux...

@lemons: Oh, I spent my youth spent learning linux (while I had to learn biology :P). But I'm 22, and I do not know linux well at all! Some tricks, but not knowledge!

I have the same feeling. Networks: nothing. Kernel: nothing. Filesystems: nothing. It's frustrating to see how much is left to learn. But it's also encouraging. Somehow. I'm 18 btw.

18, turning 19 in november I know only the basics, but im not even good with the shell (probably cause i rarely do any scripting). Got a bunch of old computers I don't even know what to do with also, except making file servers and do some networking exercises.

Hell yeah. You are fifteen and already into *nix? Impressive. How did you get interesting, if you don't mind me asking.

I had Windows on my school computer, which was slow and buggy. I'm not sure how I came upon Linux, but I decided to dual boot with Ubuntu. I also became interested in programming with Python around that time, so I stayed with Linux, mostly because of the benefits of it as a development environment. Now I use Arch, Vim, and am trying to learn some C. I guess I've fallen down the rabbit hole, a bit.

| Similar to how I started I barely remember how I came across Linux but now it's been 6+ years and I don't regret it. Keep working out your C knowledge! This thread may also be "How old linux are you?"
